Construction training provider wins award
Construction Learning World (CLW), based in Nottingham, is celebrating being the first independent provider of construction training to be awarded the British Gypsum Trophy, at the Worshipful Company of Plaisterers 2009 training awards.
The British Gypsum Trophy recognises training providers who have significantly supported people working as dry liners to gain industry relevant qualifications. It also recognises achievement in helping to improve the employability of dry lining craftsmen.
The Plaisterers’ Company awards were introduced in 2001 by the Plaisterers’ Company, of the ancient livery companies of the City of London, whose modern day existence is dedicated to promoting the art and skill of plastering and drylining. Since their introduction, the Plaisterers’ Training awards have grown significantly in content and importance. The company is one of the Worshipful Ancient Livery Companies of the City of London. It has educational training and charitable aims and in particular retains a close involvement with the British plastering Industry.
Steve Henderson, national construction manager at Construction Learning World says:
“This is a superb achievement of which we are very proud. In the last 12 months alone, we have delivered a tremendous 467 NVQ Level 2 qualifications to individuals working in dry lining plastering nationwide. This reward recognises our high standards of achievement in training and education within the UK plastering trade. We are one of only a few training providers who offer work based training in this area, so receiving this award really does set us apart from the competition.”
“To be picked out from a team of independent experts who judged the category demonstrates that Construction Learning World are the experts in our trade. Our trainers and assessors all have industry experience and their knowledge is superb. As winners we were invited to attend a special luncheon at the magnificent surroundings of the Plaisterers’ Hall in London where we collected out trophy, which is now taking pride of place on display at our head office in Nottingham. We continue to work hard to meet the needs of construction workers and their employers. Hopefully next year we can defend our title!”
