Exhibition provides opportunities for design graduates
Nearly 100 graduating students from Duncan of Jordanstone college of art and design are displaying their work at the prestigious New Designers exhibition in London.
Fresh from the success of the 2010 Dundee Degree Show, the students are showing their work at the exhibition - at the Business Design Centre in Islington.
Every year New Designers brings the design industry together and showcases the work of 3,500 graduates who are about to launch their careers to an audience of around 18,000.
In total 91 graduates from the product design, jewellery and metal design, interactive media design, illustration, textile design and graphic design programmes at DJCAD - part of the University of Dundee - will be exhibiting at the show which started yesterday and is running until Friday 11 July.
Professor Tracy MacKenna, acting dean of DJCAD said: “New Designers is a fantastic chance for our students to showcase how their work can transform the way we think, and how design can address major cultural, social and environmental issues.
“By exhibiting, the students will make essential new contacts and spread DJCAD’s and the university’s reputation as a leader in teaching and research.”
