Fairs will showcase career opportunities

Nearly 90 national and international employers are expected to visit two careers fairs at the University of York this term.

Organisations including IBM, ASDA and Bank of America will attend the fairs, along with the big four accountancy companies – PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Ernst & Young and KPMG – and a range of international law firms.

Andrew Ferguson from the university’s careers service says: “We have been very pleased with the numbers of employer organisations actively looking to recruit University of York students.

“The recession has undoubtedly had an impact on previous patterns of graduate recruitment, but many large employers are still keen to work with University of York students. A commitment to graduate recruitment is a sign that employers are looking to the long term future of their organisations.”

The Careers Fairs will be held in the Physics and Electronics Building on 27 October and 3 November between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm.
