The Graduate 2012 to test IT skills
BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, is launching an event to help students and recent IT graduates to test their skills in a mock recruitment process.
The Graduate 2012, which is being organised by the institute's West Yorkshire branch, will comprise three stages: the application; the assessment centre; and the results and award ceremony.
The main event will take place on Monday, 19 March at Esholt Hall, Yorkshire Water Learning Centre, Shipley. Sponsors include Yorkshire Water, Graduates Yorkshire, Capgemini, 4it Recruitment and QA.
BCS West Yorkshire branch chair, Chris Cahill, said: "We are really pleased to be holding for the second year running. The Graduate 2012 event will be a great opportunity for young IT professionals to learn more about what it takes to successfully gain employment, particularly in the current economic climate where competition for roles is very tight."
Last year's winner, Alex Vaughan, received an iPad 2 and a Personal Impact training course from QA.
The deadline for applications is Monday, 30 January.
