Manchester Masters launches search for creative graduates

Manchester Masters, the body that works to ensure local graduates stay in the city, has launched a search for next generation of promising talent in the creative industries.

Fifty promising applicants from Greater Manchester universities will be chosen to attend a two-day assessment involving group workshops and one-on-one interviews.

Ten finalists will then be granted the opportunity to undertake four placements throughout the year in areas like PR, marketing and advertising at a number of Manchester companies.

In addition, the selected graduates will take a fee-free masters course at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Manchester Masters project director Sandy Lindsay said: "Despite funding and budgets being cut across the country, we've battled against the odds to keep the programme running for a third year.

"More than ever, graduates are finding it tough to get work, so it's excellent news that Manchester Masters will, once again, offer real opportunities for these young people.

"Since its launch, Manchester Master has helped almost 40 students secure permanent employment in the region and has helped to build our knowledge economy and promote Manchester as the creative capital of the UK."
