Scouting for Sheffield students
More employers than ever before will be exhibiting at the University of Sheffield next week, for the Yorkshire autumn graduate recruitment fair.
The Fair, which is now in its ninth year, will be held on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November 2009, from 10.30am until 4pm.
The two day event, which is jointly organised by the careers services at the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University, will play host to over 70 different employers each day.
Final year students and graduates from all institutions will be able to meet with representatives recruiting for graduate positions starting in 2010 both regionally, nationally and internationally.
The exhibitors will cover a range of fields, including engineering, science, business and management, IT, HR, accounting and finance. The two day fair will also showcase opportunities in the public sector, work in the community and routes into teaching. Some employers will also have immediate start dates.
Michelle Dexter, fairs manager, said: "Over 140 recruiters will be present at this event, which is the highest ever number of exhibitors and this is particularly encouraging in view of the current challenging graduate recruitment market.
"With the wide variety of courses offered at the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University, we are delighted to see such a broad range of employers attending. This really allows us to meet the needs of students and graduates from the majority of degree disciplines, which is great news."
