We are a large multidisciplinary department with the most comprehensive Built Environment portfolio in Eastern England.

We have a long experience of providing programmes which are highly valued by industry and practice. Our courses are fully up-to-date through our close links with employers and professional bodies and by our highly experienced academic staff. We are located in a new building on the Anglia Ruskin University Chelmsford campus, with first class modern teaching facilities and laboratories.

Our department offers range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level, covering a wide variety of topics in Architecture, Surveying, Civil Engineering and Construction. We are leaders in part-time study and our timetables are designed specifically to give you the best possible combination of module choice and support. Virtually all of our full-time provision can be studied on a part-time basis. We emphasise the vocational aspect of our taught modules and are continually refining and introducing new subjects to keep abreast of emerging technologies and required specialisms within the industry.

Our courses provide diverse programmes of study recognising the changing nature of the construction, surveying and architectural professions and their roles. Alongside study on accredited courses (CIOB, RICS, JBM-Eng Council) there is also considerable scope for individual course design to meet specific requirements. All our courses are designed to meet the expected and future requirements of the profession and to equip students with valuable skills and abilities.
